Much of Pitt Meadows is flat floodplain, with soft soils and a high water table, especially near the Pitt and Fraser rivers. Paving here starts with a well-prepared, properly compacted base, and sometimes geotextile fabric, so surfaces don’t settle or crack as the ground moves.
